Backup and recovery
Do not factory-reset or flash the device to undo this application. Preserve a verified private off-device backup before making changes. Backups can contain credentials and should never be published.
Original-player migration rollback
The development migration preserves the previous IndieRadio applet, its settings, rcS.local and the old community applets in an initial private recovery folder. On the development radio, those old applets were subsequently removed after a verified archive was saved privately on the owner’s Mac. The revised installer records its backup directory in /etc/squeezeplay/userpath/squeeze-radio-last-backup.
With SSH access and reliable power:
- Stop the new transport using its service script.
- Move the new IndieRadio directory aside, then restore the backed-up applet archive. Moving first avoids mixing versions.
- Restore the previous IndieRadio settings and startup file from the same backup. Leave the existing remote pairing token and unrelated settings alone.
- If the prior setup used StandaloneRadio and HTTPSProxy, restore those saved directories to the applet path from the matching private archive. Restore a previous clock applet only if that matching setup requires it. Keep the new files aside for diagnosis.
- Restore any prior transport/CA/service files recorded by the installer, or leave newly introduced files inactive when their
.absentmarker is present. - Reboot normally and verify the restored setup before removing any backup.
Do not restore only the old display while leaving it connected to incompatible new playback components. Restore the complete matching application set. The development radio's manual migration backup uses a separate squeezeradio-rollback folder; it is not a released package.
If SSH is unavailable
Allow normal boot to finish and check the current IP, power and Wi-Fi. An applet backup is not a firmware recovery image. Do not apply firmware intended for another model.
Optional hostname changes
Restore the owner's startup configuration and remove only the service changes introduced by this installation. Never overwrite unrelated startup or network settings with a generic example.
