This website

Squeeze Radio is a static website hosted on Cloudflare. It has no account system, advertising scripts, analytics tags, contact form or application database. We do not set application cookies. Cloudflare processes network requests to deliver and protect the website; its own service practices apply. GitHub hosts source code, releases and issue reports, and processes visits under its own policies.

The Squeezebox toolkit

The custom applet fetches public radio streams and weather from third-party providers. Those providers receive the requesting IP address and relevant requests; weather includes the configured city coordinates. The optional remote-control API stays on your LAN and requires your radio's private key. No Squeeze Radio cloud service stores that key. Network limitations are described in security.

iPad app in development

The current development app stores favorite stations, listening history, theme and weather ZIP locally. It requests streams from stations, station discovery from Radio Browser, weather from the National Weather Service, artwork/metadata from third-party services including Apple and KEXP, and headlines from WhoBuzz. Opening an article or music-search link contacts that destination. A separate public-release privacy disclosure will accompany any App Store release.

Contact and reports

Email macrilege@gmail.com for privacy questions. Public GitHub issues are visible to everyone. Never include pairing keys, passwords or private device backups in a report.

Development build 14 removes the LMS-community cover lookup from the Squeezebox remote screen. That screen reads an optional artwork URL from the paired radio and requests the image directly from its provider, without sending the pairing key to the image provider. Older installed app versions may still use LMS-community. The radio’s existing artwork-provider terms still apply.

Squeeze Picks catalog

The iPad and radio download a public station catalog from squeezeradio.com over HTTPS and keep a local copy. Catalog requests do not send saved presets, pairing keys, listening history or an account identifier. The web host receives normal connection information such as IP address. Streams still connect directly to their broadcasters; Discover continues to use Radio Browser.
